CBS Poll has Obama up 48 to 40

The new CBS poll has Obama/Biden up 8 points over McCain/Palin. The critical (and somewhat unreported as of yet) numbers in the poll are that for the first time Obama is doing better among Democrats (82 to 10) than McCain is doing among Republicans (81 to 10). It's about time for the press to stop talking about Obama shoring up support from Hillary voters (or else they need to start making a much bigger issue about all the Ron Paul holdouts on the GOP side).

Given that Dems have a significant advantage this cycle in numbers (not even taking into account the huge number of new Dems who were registered during the primary) and the fact that obama's up 43-37 among Independents, I think we can agree that the convention was a success.
